DCEU Shakeups Continue
Updated: Jul 7, 2018
Top DC executive Geoff Johns is leaving his position as a creative executive to focus fully on writing and producing.
This should be considered a welcomed move. Johns is a fantastic comic book writer. Though he’s been overseeing DC’s entire creative process in both films and TV, he can now get down to the nitty gritty and have more of a direct impact in
individual films. The ability to combine his knowledge with attention to every detail will make for better movies.
Warner Bros. now continues to look for their own version of Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. They hope they’ve found him in DC Comics’ co-publisher Jim Lee, who is stepping in as Chief Creative Officer.
It’s been quite a year of shakeups for the DCEU team as they continue to find their way. Hopefully it ends up with a much more successful, appealing and long-lasting DCEU.
