How Ant-Man and the Wasp May Impact Avengers 4

Updated: Jul 1, 2018

Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out on July 6th, and we’ve suspected for a long time that it would somehow have a big impact on the MCU. It takes place shortly after the events of Captain America: Civil War, so it’s an Infinity War prequel of sorts.

We know the heroes are going to go searching for Hope’s mother and original Wasp, Janet van Dyne. This will take them deep into the Quantum Realm, and that’s where things are about to get interesting.

There’s a reason we’re getting this movie in between Avengers 3 and 4. The Quantum Realm will play a big role in this movie and may very be the key to stopping Thanos or reversing the deaths we saw at the end of Infinity War.

Leaked set photos have shown Ant-Man at the battle of New York with Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk, along with what appears to be some kind of Pym-Tech device on their wrists. The assumption is that this enables time travel, since Ant-Man wasn’t at the battle of New York.

My guess is that the Quantum Realm can somehow serve as a way to gain entry into Soul World, which is where I believe the vanished heroes are trapped.

One prediction I’ll make; to really tie this movie to Infinity War, someone has to disappear in the end credits, and I’m betting it’s Hope. She is finally reunited with her mother, only to turn to dust as soon as everyone is happy. That would be the emotional play and would motivate Scott to jump into the fight in Avengers 4.
