Nicolas Cage Cast as Spider-Man

Updated: Jul 9, 2018

Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds.

Nicolas Cage was once almost Superman and Iron Man. Now, he’s finally a superhero, being cast as Spider-Man. Well, kind of.

He’s only voicing Spider-Man (a version of him) in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse coming later this year.

Spider-Man Noir is a darker, alternate timeline Peter Parker from the 1930’s. After Uncle Ben is killed in this timeline, Peter uses his powers to go to war with the New York mob underground, led by none other than Norman Osborn. Though Kingpin seems to be the primary antagonist in the movie.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse focuses on Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore, so Spider-Man Noir looks to be a rather small part of the film. We’re also going to see classic Peter Parker as well as Spider-Gwen (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld), which is Gwen Stacy in a different timeline as well.

The film is based on the 2014 Spider-Verse series which followed numerous alternate versions of Spidey. I wonder which other versions we may see.

I’ve got a wish list of other Spideys I’d like to see show up in order to fall in line with the comic. It’s set to debut on December 14.
